Dear MCS Parents,
Happy New Year! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season.
This coming Chinese New Year will be the Year of the Rat. Some information can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_New_Year and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rat_(zodiac).
We will be celebrating Chinese New Year on Saturday, 2/9/08 (snow date 2/23/08). There will be no class in the morning. First, we will start all the students?performances from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. Then we will start reception at 5:30p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:00p.m. Selected acts will be performed at the same time. Our carnival with games and prizes will take place in the gym starting from 8:00p.m. to 10:00p.m.
We will have a dessert fundraiser after the dinner. Yummy pies, cookies, brownies, cakes, dessert soups, etc. will be available for purchase. We will have raffle drawing, karaoke competition, riddles, karaoke and other entertainment for our evening. It’s going to be a fun night.
If you want to help us, please do stay in the school after the afternoon performance to help set up the carnival and tables ready for dinner. Any help will be appreciated.
The New Year party registration will start this Saturday. Please register early to avoid late charges and ensure seating.
We are accepting donations for the raffles. Cash or new, unwrapped appropriate gifts would be appreciated. Please bring them this or over the next few weeks.
Our first newsletter this school year will be available for pick up this Saturday. It’s a very interesting and informative publication.
