Dear Parents,
We have a few reminders and new items.
Please remind your children that there should be no eating, drinking, moving, taking, or destroying any objects in the classroom or in the halls, whether on walls, shelves, or desks. It’s very important not to bring any snacks or food that has nut ingredients to school because some children may have fatal reactions.
Halloween is coming. We encourage the parents, teachers and students to dress up in their costumes this Saturday, 10/27/07 to Chinese school. Please stop by the front desk for some candies and other stuff to giveaway. Hope to see you there!
On 11/3/07, we are very honored to have an experienced dance teacher to teach ballroom dancing to our parents for free from 9:30a.m. to 10:30a.m. She will be teaching from the list of Ballroom and Social dances including Rumba, ChaCha, Swing, Waltz and Foxtrot. No prior experience is needed. Students should dress comfortably. Please sign up at the PTO desk. So come and have some fun.
We will also be having our school pictures taken on 11/3/07. Please have your children dress up. Bright clothes will be better.
Please support our bake sale on 11/17/07 and sign up at the PTO desk if you wish to donate. You can donate any nut free food or dessert, etc. If you want, you may just stop by our tables and purchase the items to help out the school. Also, if you are interested in purchasing Delicious Orchards pies, please fill out the forms and return to us by 11/3/07.
Holidays are coming. This is the time for giving. We may give away some items we don't need and don't want to throw away. We will be having a toy drive. Simply Help Foundation is trying to fill up 40 foot containers of toys and other items to send to other countries. They do accept school supplies, clothes, toys, small non electrical and non glass kitchen items and computers. New or used items are welcome as long as they are clean and useable. Please bring the items on Saturday, 12/1/07 by 10:00a.m. You may check out their website www.simplyhelp.org to find out more about this organization. This is for a good cause so please consider to participate in this drive.
We have another great fundraiser if anyone is interested in going to a NJ Nets Bastketball game against the Rockets (Yao Ming) in East Rutherford on Friday night, 12/7/07. Please fill out the form with payment to MCS by 11/3/07. Attached is the flyer with more detail.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best Regards,
Sui Louie

First Marlboro Chinese
New Year Parade
Saturday, February 24, 2007 2:00 pm
Year of the Boar - Lunar Year 4705
In an effort to promote cultural
diversity within the community about Chinese culture and traditions,
the Marlboro Township of Monmouth County, NJ, is sponsoring its first
ever Chinese New Year Parade with support from various Chinese organizations.
The parade is organized by three Chinese
schools located at Marlboro: Fidelity Chinese School, Huaxia Chinese
School, and Monmouth Chinese School. Other participating organizations
are: Jersey Shore Chinese School, Monmouth Chinese Christian Church,
OCM Jireh Church, New Jersey Buddha Cultural Center, and Tzu Chi Foundation.
Spearheading the parade is the Honorable
Dr. Robert Kleinberg, Mayor of Marlboro, NJ, who states, “This will
be an exciting event in Marlboro. I have always wanted our kids to experience
the joy and excitement of the Chinese New Year celebration personally,
not just from reading a book or seeing it on the TV. The township
of Marlboro is proud to present this first Chinese New Year Parade.”
All residents of the local communities
are cordially invited to see the parade along the planned route.
The parade will include sensational Chinese lion and dragon dances,
fascinating Chinese waist-drum dance, and glamorous Chinese costume
show. The parade will start from Marlboro Mall, located at the
cross section of Rt. 79 and School Road at 2:00pm on Saturday, February
24, 2007. The march will proceed along School Road West, then
School Road South, then right turn onto Wyncrest Road, and end at Marlboro
Recreation Center, for about one mile. After the parade, there
will be performances at the Recreation Center. The Mayor of Marlboro,
honored guests, and residents, are invited to enjoy a short program
featuring spectacular Chinese orchestra, acrobatic Chinese Yo-Yo, and
various exciting traditional theatric Chinese dances, followed by a
small reception plus arts and craft demonstration and free souvenirs.
Please come and join us in the first
exciting, heart-warming Marlboro Chinese New Year Parade! For
more information, please contact Dr. Raymond Eng at 732-536-4950.
